Mr. Trystan Lewis 
MBBS BSc FRCS PhD

Qualifications:

Mr. Trystan Lewis is a consultant general surgeon at Epsom and St. Helier NHS Trust. He is on the GMC specialist register with an interest in upper gastro-intestinal and hernia surgery. Mr. Lewis qualified from Imperial College School of Medicine in 2005 with an additional Bachelor of Science in Surgery. He completed his surgical training in South West London and Surrey. He was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in 2017.

Research interests:

Mr. Lewis took three years out of training to complete a PhD at the world renowned department of Cancer and Surgery at Imperial College. His thesis focused on innovations in surgical skills. His research has been published extensively in surgical journals and has presented his work internationally throughout North America and Europe.

Specialist interests:

Mr. Lewis has a specialist interest in disease of the stomach and gallbladder, and all types of abdominal hernia. In his current position at Epsom and St. Helier, Mr. Lewis leads the Surgical Ambulatory Care Unit, where he is passionate about same day surgical care, so that the stress of surgery has a minimal impact on individual patients day to day life.
